Bluetooth is a wireless connection standard for transferring data over short distances between fixed or portable devices or establishing personal area networks (PAN). It uses UHF radio waves in the ISM bands from 2.02 GHz to 2.48 GHz. It is often used as an alternative to wired connections, to exchange files between nearby portable devices and to connect players, wireless headphones or speakers. In its most common mode, the range cannot exceed 10 meters, as the transmission power is limited to 2.4 milliwatts.
