AdGuard Ad Blocker

AdGuard is a unique no root ad blocker for Android that removes ads in apps and browsers, protects your privacy, and helps you manage your apps.

Features:

• Blocks ads everywhere:

Block throughout the whole system. This includes video ads and ads in your favorite apps, browsers, games, and on any website you can imagine. Dozens of ad filters are available to you and are updated on a regular basis, guaranteeing the best filtering quality.

• Cares about your privacy:

Protecting your personal data is our top priority. With AdGuard, you and your sensitive data will be safe from any online tracker and analytics system that may attempt to steal your data while surfing the web.

• Saves your traffic:

More ads blocked means fewer ads loaded. Fewer ads loaded means more traffic saved. Simple math by AdGuard! Download the apk file, install the app and spend your traffic on things you like instead of wasting it on voracious ads.

• You stay in control:

It is your device, after all, and you decide what gets filtered and what doesn’t. A wide range of settings — from basic to ‘pro’ — as well as an Apps Management tool will help you customize the filtering to your liking.

The app offers Limited full-fledged free trial, and is free with limited functionality after the trial and only affecting browsers, and paid with full-fledged license for in-app and browser ad-blocking

Disclaimer: most Android-based apps are distributed via Google Play; however, AdGuard is not presented there, because Google prohibits distribution of network-level ad blockers via Google Play, i.e. apps that block commercials in other apps. Accessibility Notes:

The app is accessible with no unlabeled buttons

Though no TalkBack actions have been implemented for this app - as they are not needed anyway, AdGuard for Android is quite accessible and one should try hard to find unlabeled buttons in its interface. It has five tabs, displayed at the bottom of the screen: Home, Protection, App management, Statistics, and Settings.

The Home tab allows users to turn on or off the Main Protection switch. It also offers check boxes to check or uncheck separate items like ad-blocking, tracking protection, Annoyance blocking, DNS protection, and Firewall. Content filters can also be updated from this tab manually if needed. The Protection tab also provides access to the check boxes and separate items previously mentioned along with longer descriptions for each item.

The App management tab, the app's third tab at the bottom of the screen, allows users to turn on and off the apps which are controlled by AdGuard. Its Search edit box also helps with faster access to apps. The Open Option Menu button, at the top right corner of the screen, offers the following items: Route all through AdGuard, Stop routing for all, Filter all apps, stop filtering for all, and Reset to default.

The Statistics tab displays useful info about data usage, tracker numbers, stuff uploaded/downloaded, the apps which were filtered, etc. The Open Option Menu at the top right corner of this tab offers the following item: Clear statistics. Finally the Settings tab offers the following controls: General, Filtering, License, Support, About, and Quit, which stops AdGuard protection and stats collection. The Open Option Menu at the top right corner of the screen in this tab offers the following items: Export settings, Import settings, Open configuration wizard, and Reset to default.
