Accessibility and User Comments:

Nova Launcher is hands down the best customization app for Android, with the ability to customize literally every aspect of your home screen and make it truly yours. It supports accessibility actions for both apps and folders to move around your home screen or app drawer.

It lets you auto sort your apps by allowing Nova to list your installed apps and organize them within relevant folders. E.G., all your banking apps in finance and all your music and audio-related apps within the entertainment folder. Navigating within the Nova settings can be tricky at times since it uses live previews, and choosing and adjusting colors is not really screen reader friendly. But those customizations are no deal breakers for a totally blind person. State of Some of the check boxes is not announced bby screen readers for some visualization related options therefore it is not easy to tell whether they are enabled or disabled.

I love the built-in Nova Search, and I find it a huge upgrade to the Finder search of the Samsung's default One UI. You can add more apps to search within, e.g., your contacts, Spotify library, Wikipedia, shortcuts of the whole installed apps, and many more. E.G. If you search for private, you can find InPrivate browsing of Edge and can launch it right away. If you search for a contact, you also can see the contact-related options, like calling the contact, messaging, or calling through WhatsApp or Telegram. The search query also brings up some web search options and tapping on any of them launches DuckDuckGo search page on your default browser. As mentioned in the app description, you can also convert units directly from the Nova search. This is really useful as I often need to convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa for the weather.

Some of the launcher gestures get conflicted with the screen reader in use, but I still can utilize Nova Search by swiping down with two fingers. Swiping up with two fingers brings up the app drawer. The clockwise and counterclockwise gestures also work, but no functions are added to them by default. I, however, added the ASR voice recorder and Google Keep quick note-taking widget, respectively. The good part about the app drawer is that you can choose to display the frequently used apps, searches, and shortcuts at the top of the list, and you can also see the rows like recently installed and recently updated.

The Nova Launcher Prime addon is required to enable notification badges and is a one-time purchase through Google Play.
