The Safe Headphones app adds transparency mode to any of your old pairs of headphones or earphones. Once installed and activated, you can hear your surroundings.

This app will turn your Headphones into Noise Un-Cancelling Headphones which will allow you to hear background noises and Car Horns while listening to Music. Now you can use your headphones in public safely.

How to use

Launch the app and allow it to use the microphone and show you notifications. Microphone access is required for the app to function as it should. And it displays the running status as a notification. There is an on-off switch to enable the transparency mode, along with a slider to increase / decrease the sound you hear. You can go to more options>settings to change the microphone. You can even use your device’s microphone while wearing headphones, so it will give better results.

I haven’t observed any audio latency on my Samsung phone using my Type-c headphones. The app contains ads and you can get rid of them by monthly or annual subscription.
