Solid Explorer

Solid Explorer is a comprehensive file manager that lets you manage files on your device and across cloud storage services in one place.

Details and Features

Solid Explorer lets you navigate to files stored on your device and automatically organizes them into collections. You can view, delete, move, rename or share any files. It also allows you to quickly find the files you need through indexed search with filters.

Solid Explorer can protect selected files with strong AES encryption and put them in a secure folder, which contents are unreadable for other apps. The file manager will ask for password or fingerprint confirmation when you browse the folder. Even if you uninstall Solid Explorer, the files stay on your device and are still protected.

This file management app is inspired by the old school file commander applications. It offers two weeks of free trial. Features include:

  • View all folders and files on your device
  • Compress and extract files in zip and 7zip formats
  • Manage files across multiple cloud storage services (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Yandex Disk) from a single screen
    • Connect to remote servers and transfer files using the built-in FTP server functionality
View on Google Play Store

Free or paid:

  • Paid with one-time purchase

Accessibility Notes:

Although no TalkBack actions are implemented, the app is accessible and easy to use. The interface has a few unlabeled buttons here and there, but both TalkBack and Jieshuo are able to label these buttons automatically. Actions can be accessed at the bottom of the screen after long pressing on a file/folder to interact with.

Last Tested App version and Android version:

2.8.37. Android 14.
