A custom ROM is a modified version of the Android operating system created and distributed by third-party developers. Unlike the stock ROM (the default OS pre-installed on Android devices by manufacturers), custom ROMs offer more control, customization options, and sometimes even improved performance.
One major advantage of custom ROMs is that they can extend support to Android versions beyond what the device officially supports, allowing users to access newer features and updates even if their manufacturer no longer provides them.
Installing a custom ROM typically requires unlocking the bootloader and flashing the software, which can offer a fresh experience but may void the device warranty or involve serious risks if not done properly.
