Constant motion

Constant Motion, my collection of endless runner minigames designed specifically for the blind and visually impaired, is now available for Android!

From duck and jump sidescrollers to 3d top down environments to games that test your reaction speed or key/touch screen spamming ability to games that focus on strategy and more, there’s sure to be at least one addicting minigame in this collection to satisfy your unique taste!

Features

  • The game has been translated (somewhat automatically) into several languages and more translations can be made available on request.
  • A scoreboard exists for online competition with other players.
  • 5 of the 14 games are always available for free as a demo of the product.
  • I am far from done adding features or new minigames!

Webpage & Purchase Details

  • An audio demo of each minigame is available on the game’s webpage.
  • One purchase entitles you to play all minigames on up to 3 devices (extra slots purchasable) no matter the platform.
  • Combining both Paypal and Stripe provides a myriad of payment method options.
  • The game can be gifted to others.

Accessibility & Documentation

  • Everything is self-documenting with each game having both an instructions and learn sounds menu.
  • An option in the main menu allows instant access to all important instructions and gestures that work across the app.

This game was inspired by the endless runner called Fear which had been released several years ago for mobile.

If you remember and enjoyed that game, you are likely to enjoy Constant Motion as well, which contains 14 individual endless runners and growing in just one app!

Accessibility and User Comments:

The game is 100% accessible, though like many audiogames for Android it is best played with Talkback disabled as it contains it's own gesture handling and speech output.

The game is played in the landscape left screen orientation and you usually swipe up and down to move through options as opposed to left and right. All gestures are explained as you use the app. For the benifit of a sighted user who launches the app with no screen reader running, a visual dialog may appear which warns them that the app will show nothing but a black screen from that point, this will not appear if the app is launched with a screen reader running.

If you turn off talkback first though then use something like Google assistant to launch the game, you may need to contend with it. While it should be rare, I did receive one single report that the game was acting up or crashing when interacting with their running screen reader (I cannot reproduce this a the dev). If this is something you experience, please ensure no screen reader is running when interacting with the app, and if you feel up to it, please contact me with details so I can help!

Editor's note:operation settings>gaming mode>gaming mode apps, and check constant motion. The next time you open constant motion, Jieshuo will say "Entered Gaming Mode", gestures will resume, and constant motion will speak through Jieshuo.

Last Tested App version and Android version:
