Accessibility Notes:
The app is accessible with a few hiccups.
The app is accessible with TalkBack. The Settings button, at the top left area of the Home tab, is an unlabeled button which gets detected and announced by TalkBack. The Npr app has 3 major tabs, placed at the bottom of the screen: Home, Podcasts, and My NPR. The Home tab displays all headlines and also allows users to bring up the Search dialog. The Podcasts tab displays NPR podcasts in addition to major flagship programs like All Things Considered, Morning Edition, etc. The My NPR tab displays NPR stations, the Donate button, the live stream, and the items which might have been added to your playlist. It's worth mentioning that the app feels a bit sluggish with TalkBack, and oftentimes TalkBack might not respond well or quickly upon flicking left/right or touching the screen. Moreover, the 2-finger double-tap gesture which can be used to resume/pause playback doesn't work consistently - usually it fails to pause playback. Finally, the app itself has many negative reviews on the Play Store with users complaining about playback and display issues, so the access-oriented glitches mentioned above might very well be related to the app's poor design.
