How to click web links or phone numbers in text messages

In this tip I’ll try to show you how to click web links or phone numbers in a text message using TalkBack or Jieshuo.

Using TalkBack

The way it is supposed to work is that you should be able to just put the message in focus that has the link in it,. Then bring up the talkBack menu by either tapping with three fingers or swiping down then to the right.

There should be an option in the TalkBack menu called links and double tapping on this will show you all the links or phone numbers in that message that are clickable. You can then choose the one you want and double tap on it

The reason I say this is how it is supposed to work is because the Google messages app is or has been unpredictable at times. Sometimes it will let you access the link and sometimes it won’t. Sometimes each message has two nodes and you need to swipe to the next node to actually have the links appear in the TalkBack menu.

How to click web links using Jieshuo?

For Jieshuo, you will need to swipe down and right just like in TalkBack and choose “Open an URL.”You can also assign a custom gesture to perform this function.
