How to disable sideview for topics in Telegram

If you are a member of Telegram groups, it is likely that one or more of them is using the topics system to organize messages. If you are annoyed by the topics appearing on a part of the screen in the chat list when you tap the group’s name, with your screen reader sometimes struggling to focus the topic you need to tap properly ending up in a different topic or chat, then you should apply the following setting.

  • Go to Telegram settings and tap Power Saving.
  • There you have options to save battery including choices to turn off certain animations.
  • Tap on animations in chats. then uncheck the option called: Side Menu in Topics.

Disabling this option will make topics open in full screen mode when you tap the name of a group that has enabled topics, so you can conveniently select the topic you want to view.
