For years, Samsung has hidden the ability to cast your devices screen and sound to a Chromecast Target in favor of its own casting solution in Miracast. This guide will show you how you can re-enable this functionality from within the Smart View interface.
1. Navigate to the quick settings panel. You can get here by first swiping down from the top of the screen with two fingers to bring down the notification shade, and then swiping down with two fingers a second time to expand the quick settings panel.
2. Find and activate the Smart View tile. If it does not appear in your quick settings panel, go to “edit buttons”. You will be able to add the tile from here.
3.
Now you should see a list of possible Miracast devices that you can cast to from your device. On this screen, find the “more options” menu near the top right and double tap to expand it. Then double tap on “settings”.
4. Find “About Smart View” at the bottom of the settings page, and double tap on it.
5. Just above the version number is the title “Smart View”. Put this in focus and double tap 10 times.
6. You will now be asked for a password. Enter the following and double tap on “OK”: #00rtsp00
7. This will take you to the developer options page for Smart View. Find the switch for “Google Cast”, and turn it on.
That’s it! Now when you open Smart View from your quick settings panel, all of your Chromecast targets should show up alongside your Miracast targets.
