Setting Google Assistant to a Long-Press of the Side Key on a Samsung Phone

On Samsung devices, Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant, can be activated by pressing and holding the side key. If you want to set to activate Google Assistant by pressing the side key instead and wonder how to do it; In this article, I will tell you how this can be done in a few simple steps. When you follow the steps completely, you will be able to activate Google Assistant by pressing and holding the side button.

Steps to follow

Before we get started, note that Your device will need to be running full One UI, not One UI Core.

1. Download Good Lock from the Galaxy Store and open it.

2. Activate the “Life Up” tab near the bottom-right of the screen.

3. Find “Registar” in the list and activate the unlabeled button to the right of it. This will take you to the app listing for Registar in the Galaxy Store.

4. Find the “Install” button at the bottom of the screen and activate it.

5. After installation is complete, return to the Good Lock app.

6. Locate “Registar” which should now be near the top of the list in the “Life Up” tab, and activate it.

7. Locate and activate “Side-Key press and hold action” at the bottom of the list.

8. Turn on the switch that is incorrectly labeled “Registar” as of this writing. ‘This will cause a list of radio buttons to appear below the switch.

9. Select the “Access your google voice assistant” radio button.

10. Press and hold the side-key to start using Google Assistant.
