Jieshuo screen reader offers several ways to copy content, including the copy function that copies the text of the current focus, several selection modes that enable copying a portion of the text, the list copy which enables the copying of a whole list or article, and the append function that appends the newly copied text to the previously copied one. Everything you copy with any of those methods will be saved in the Clipboard history.
The Clipboard history is where Jieshuo stores copied text, giving the user the ability to view or paste the text later.
Using the Clipboard history:
Clipboard history can be accessed from the main menu, assigned to a gesture, or shortcut key. Also, it is present in the functions menu, which is accessed by default by swiping up then right.
When you open the Clipboard history, you’ll find a list of previously copied texts. It’s unclear if there’s a limit, causing older items to be deleted. Furthermore, this list remains intact even after restarting the screen reader or the phone.
Tapping an item will paste it. Notably, focusing on an edit box isn’t required for the paste to occur. For instance, if you’re in a WhatsApp chat, pasting an item will input it into the message text box, even if the edit box wasn’t in focus when the text was tapped. However, ensure you’re focused on the correct edit box when pasting in a screen with multiple edit boxes.
Long pressing an item in the Clipboard history presents several options:
- Add to favorites: Adds the text to Jieshuo’s favorites.
- Edit: Enables the editing of the text, allowing users to add or remove content. To save edits, simply tap “ok.”
- Delete: Removes the text from the clipboard history.
- Save as a local file: Saves the text in the notes folder within Jieshuo’s main directory. You can name the file and press “ok” to save. To view the file in other apps, consider adding the .txt extension during saving or renaming it later.
- Save as a cloud note: Stores the text in the cloud, accessible from the Cloud Notes in the “more” section of Jieshuo’s settings.
To search for a specific text in the clipboard history, tap on enter keyword and start typing. The matches will be shown above the keyboard as you are typing.
Clipboard history Manager
Using the Clipboard history manager, you can act on multiple texts simultaneously. It is accessed by pressing the “Manage” button, located near the bottom of the screen on the right side. Within this manager, you’ll find a list of all clipboard items. Double-tap any item to select it.
For swift selection of multiple items, initiate the selection by long-pressing the item you want to start with, and finish the selection by long-pressing the item you wish to be the endpoint. This will automatically select both the items that were long-pressed and those in between.
At the bottom of the screen, you can find the available actions which are:
- Delete: deletes the selected items immediately without any confirmation dialog.
- Select all: reverts the selection. In other words, it will uncheck what was checked and check what was unchecked. It works the same as select all works in other modes of selection in Jieshuo.
- Backup: backs up the selected items.
